In Balance Yoga • Blacksburg, Virginia

"I had always been interested in yoga and had gone to a few practices in different locations around the New River Valley, but never really felt like I could clear my mind anywhere. The "hot yoga" sign at In Balance really caught my eye and I decided to try it out. After doing the "week triall" with different classes and instructors, I became hooked (or obsessed you could say!). Not only was the Hot Yoga amazing, but the Vinyasa, Power Hour, and Restorative Yoga and Meditation classes as well. I decided to go for the 30 day challenge before school started for the spring, and have not gone a day without doing yoga since! I started out not being able to touch my toes, and a month later, not only am I able to do that, but I have started doing headstands! The studio is amazing, with no outside noise and such positive energy flowing around the room. Every instructor I have practiced with has been great helping with my poses and encouraging me to be patient with my body. With the help of the In Balance staff, I have become more in tune with my body and mind, and have truly felt a transformation."

"My wife and I signed up for the 30 day challenge and have been loving getting to do yoga every day at In Balance Yoga. The instructors are incredibly nice and have really been instrumental in helping me improve my practice. I am very inexperienced in yoga, but the instructors are amazing at making you feel comfortable while also improving your poses. In the first two weeks of my 30 day challenge, I can see huge improvement in my form, flexibility, and I've even lost 7 pounds. I would reccommend In Balance Yoga to anyone looking for a fantastic way to get healthy, calm your mind, and interact with amazing people."

"Attending classes at In Balance, and participating in the 30 Day Challenge, has been an amazing physical, mental, and emotional journey. A regular yoga practice has allowed me to be more connected with my body and to push myself physically while still listening to and respecting my current limitations. I now understand that my physical journey is a personal one that cannot be dictated by anyone other than myself. In addition, a regular practice has reduced my level of stress by providing an opportunity to experience uninterrupted time for reflection. I can tell a difference both physically and mentally when I do not attend classes regularly. I am grateful to all the amazing instructors at In Balance for the time and energy they put into creating a wonderful yoga experience for their students."

"Going to In Balance Yoga every day for 30 days might have been the last thing I ever wanted to do.... Turns out it has been the best thing I've ever done!  I never thought I would enjoy something involving sweat but it has become an important part of my life. I'm rejuvenated when I leave. I exit with more peace than when I enter!  The instructors are so helpful. They're always willing to talk to you after class.

In Balance Yoga has given me something to look forward to everyday AND I'm living a healthier more active life! Thanks Nicole and all instructors for an awesome 30 days with more to come!"

"I am very grateful for the presence of the studio and to the variety of classes and instructors. It both deepens and broadens my practice when I have the opportunity to experience so many different approaches to yoga. All of them resonate with aspects of my spiritual and physical needs. I also appreciate the focus on karma yoga and, under Nicole's direction, the commitment to improving the community. I'm especially thankful that so many yogis were willing to give to a cause overseas, in the donations class held for an African school I'm connected with. I enjoy seeing how many people find their way to In Balance as well. It is a great blessing to Blacksburg."

Caitlyn and I met at InBalance last summer during a period of transition in both of our lives.  Caitlyn had just moved to Blacksburg from California and I had just returned home to Blacksburg after grad school.  After our first yin class with Courtney, we continued to meet up for lunch, lectures, art openings and yoga.  I don't think either of us could have made it through the last year without the support of a true yogi friend.

Thanks for making that possible!
