Kirsty is a native of Bristol, VA and a Virginia Tech alumni. She completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Danville, VA at Hot Asana with Virginia Gallagher and Angela Tara Hsu, where she learned how to teach and sequence hot vinyasa (flow) classes. In addition Kirsty has attended workshops with Bryan Kest – Power yoga and Angela Tara Hsu – hot yoga. Kirsty began teaching hot flow classes at Hot Asana after graduating from teacher training in June 2016, shortly after she returned to Blacksburg and joined the In Balance Yoga community. Kirsty received her certification as a 5Elements Flow Yoga teacher with the Kunga Yoga School and Kristin Cooper-Gulak with Noelle Whittington at IBY in December 2017. Kirsty is also a licensed occupational therapist and has worked in pediatrics, mental health and home health. Kirsty loves the practice of yoga and the space and stillness it creates. She believes yoga is healing for the body, mind and spirit and it is truly for everybody. She enjoys teaching classes that are multilevel, purposeful and accessible for all body’s. Kirsty also loves hiking running, traveling, cooking/baking and her dog Macy.
