Emily is a physical therapist and yoga teacher in the New River Valley. She completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training specializing in hot yoga and vinyasa with Becky McDaniel in 2011. She also completed a 300 hour Kunga Yoga Service Leadership training at In Balance Yoga in 2020 focusing on gentle yoga and meditation, 5Elements flow and Ayurveda, pre/postnatal, kids yoga, senior yoga, hands on assisting, vinyasa and power flow, detox, anatomy, business of yoga, service leadership/yoga for trauma, and restorative yoga. Emily graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has experience in pediatrics, orthopedics, inpatient rehab, and home health settings. Her yoga teaching is informed by a deep knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics. Emily’s classes integrate creativity and alignment, linking fluid breath with movement. She is inspired by the spaciousness and presence that yoga cultivates. Emily loves sharing yoga with others and strives to make her classes accessible and welcoming to all.
