This class is inspired by the Ashtanga Series as passed down from Shri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. In keeping with tradition, Ashtanga led class begins with the warming practice of Surya Namaskaras A and B, flows into standing postures, continues into seated postures, and concludes with closing/ cooling postures and savasana. Through routine and practice students begin to learn the series, facilitating a home practice if wanted and gain strength, grace, and confidence as they witness the transformation of their bodies and minds.

Sun salutations and rapid vinyasa flow will begin the class followed by the traditional standing breathing from the Bikram Method. The second part of class we will connect many of the 26 static poses into a flow style sequence. This class promotes greater range of motion: it will energize and inspire you to move deep into your yoga practice!

Slow Flow is a slower type of flow (vinyasa) yoga, in which the movement is synchronized with breath in a smooth, flowing way. By moving slowly and holding postures for several breaths, you will build strength and increase flexibility through slow, focused movements, allowing your body to deepen into a stretch or pause in strengthening poses."
