Staff Member Highlight of the Month- Meet SaraElizabeth!
1. What are you most excited about sharing in your classes?
I’m extremely excited to share the practice of Yoga Nidra (guided deep relaxation and meditation)! There are a host of scientifically proven benefits that Yoga Nidra has to offer including those that are physiological, mental, and emotional. Participants have shared with me that because of their Yoga Nidra practice they are able to sleep better, to manage what & how much they eat more easily, and they report becoming aware of a clarity and creativity that they didn’t know existed in them or that they haven’t felt in a long time. Practitioners also relate that they feel expansive and open while remaining grounded, that they find a calm and internal peace and contentment that lasts far beyond formal practice, and that they feel deeper meaning and joy in connections with others as well as with themselves. As precious as all of these things are, there are many benefits that participants say they experience that are unquantifiable and ineffable. When we practice we benefit the world as well as ourselves. Very exciting indeed!
2. What is your favorite thing about being a part of In Balance Yoga’s community?
When I walk through the doors of IBY I can clearly feel the staff, faculty, and administration radiating a very real sense of care and appreciation for everyone. That shows up as true presence, respect, acknowledgment, and as the gift of each person being valued. Members bring their warmth & care to IBY as well adding to IBY’s welcoming, healing environment in which to BE.
3. Any last thoughts to share?
I encourage everyone to experience Yoga Nidra with me at IBY & to discover for themselves the benefits that await them through their Yoga Nidra practice! Also… I wish everyone wellness, well-being, and wonder!

1. How did yoga find you?
I had been “yoga curious” for a while so when the gym I was attending started to offer yoga classes I gave it a try. I took classes occasionally for several years and have tried to develop a more consistent yoga practice since I retired four years ago.
2. What is your favorite thing about being a part of In Balance Yoga’s community?
I like the variety of classes at In Balance and my favorite thing is the welcoming and encouraging atmosphere. Instructors give options so that folks at all levels can participate and benefit from the class.
3. Any last thoughts to share?
The older I get, the more important it is to pay attention to my body so that I can continue to enjoy all the things I want to do, and yoga helps a lot. I just wish I had started sooner!
